Originally a minimally-produced B-side to an early Thomas Dolby single, 'Leipzig' is given the full pop treatment with an expansive and technicoloured arrangement. The chorus remains one of the great pop anthems of the eighties, and engendered two fictitious characters (Henry & James) who subsequently took on a life of their own in another Stewart/Gaskin song. C/W 'Rich For A Day', Dave's take on crap TV game shows. Released in 1983 on Dave & Barbara's Broken Records label, the track generated considerable airplay without breaking into the charts.
