Haken guitarist Charlie Griffiths returns. Assuming the moniker Tiktaalika, Gods of Pangaea picks up where his 2022 solo album left off. 

 

Musically the album pays tribute to the art of the guitar riff, with its DNA strands reaching back to the golden era of metal with flavours of Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, Megadeth and Metallica. 

 

Charlie is joined once again by drummer extraordinaire Darby Todd (Devin Townsend), and the bass comes courtesy of Haken bandmate Conner Green. Tommy Rogers (Between The Buried & Me), Daniël de Jongh (Textures), Vladimir Lalić (Organised Chaos) and Rody Walker (Protest The Hero) provide the album’s vocals.
