Thick As A Brick 2 (2012) was Ian Anderson's ambitious follow-up to Jethro Tull's dazzling 1972 opus, Thick As A Brick.
On this acclaimed and audacious sequel to a Progressive Rock masterpiece (subtitled Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock?), Ian Anderson presented an imagined later life of the fictional child prodigy who inspired his original concept.
TAAB2 poses playful “what-if” scenarios for Bostock’s adulthood - banker, homeless wanderer, preacher, soldier, ordinary man - weaving them into a meditation on fate, chance, and the cyclical nature of life. Musically, the album bridges Anderson’s signature wit and literary flair with a modern progressive sound, full of dynamic shifts, rich instrumentation, and lyrical introspection.
A deluxe half-speed mastered double black vinyl edition cut by award-winning engineer John Webber at AIR Studios using remastered audio from the original sources.
