Iain Matthews - A People’s History is an oral history of one of Britain's leading singer-songwriters. An original member of folk-rock pioneers Fairport Convention, Iain has carved out a singular career over nearly 60 years.

 

He topped the charts in 1970 as Matthews Southern Comfort with his cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock', reached No 13 in the US with his recording of Terence Boylan's 'Shake It' and has been a torchbearer for Americana for six decades. His critically acclaimed albums include If You Saw Thro' My Eyes (1971), In Search Of Amelia Earhart (1972) (with Plainsong) and Journeys From Gospel Oak (1974) and Some Days You Eat The Bear (1974).
