Former DGM artists Europa String Choir make their Burning Shed debut with this collection of improvisations recorded while making the album 'Lemon Crash' and during the band's tours of Italy, Germany and the US.

Featuring Centrozoon's Markus Reuter and, on four tracks, celebrated 12-string guitarist Tony Geballe, Marching Ants is a charming, quirky and challenging addition to the ESC's respected catalogue.

This material was recorded in 2 different situations: during the ?Lemon Crash? recording sessions and during ESC Quartet tours of Italy, Germany and the U.S.

Improvisation has always been a part of the ESC Quartet's live concerts and recording sessions; the selection offered here is a good overview of our improvising over the past years up until the year 2001. This piece of work has been intended to be released in one form or another for a long time and we have finally found the inclination to finalise it. The material is not easy to listen to by any standards, but having said that, listen with open ears and make up your own mind.

We hope that you will enjoy the selection on offer as much Thanks to: Jonathan Brainin for his support, organising and recording work during the U.S tour 1999, to his wife Rae for her warm hospitality, to Tony Geballe for mini-touring with
in so many ways, to our many Italian friends who also continue to support our work in ways too many to mention, and last but not least to the worldwide Guitar Craft community.
