Behemoth Zos_Kia_Cultus CD Peaceville
Dating from 2002, Zos Kia Cultus was the sixth album from Behemoth, and saw the band ascend ever closer to the top of the Death Metal hierarchy with music of sharply refined technical prowess on display in both execution and composition.

The album’s brutal and complex riffs and structural twists would pitch Behemoth alongside bands like Death Metal heroes Morbid Angel (with Behemoth’s abilities taking them far from the primitive black metal roots evident when the band formed).

-------

Behemoth was born in Poland in 1991, formed by band mastermind, Nergal. The evolution of Behemoth grew out of early demos and studio recordings with strong black metal roots and atmospherics, into brutal extreme metal. They stamped their own identity on the metal world with the compositions becoming more fierce than cold/grim, with a great maturity in songwriting and execution becoming clearly evident with each passing release, raising the Polish group proudly to the apex of the extreme metal world.

‘Zos Kia Cultus’ was recorded in 2002 at Hendrix Studios and released later the same year. The album was produced by mainman Nergal & engineered/mixed by Arkadiusz Malczewski.
