Kornmo is an instrumental progressive/symphonic band with musical roots in the early ‘70s, with an emphasis on the melodic. The band’s origins can be traced back to the mid ‘70s when bassist Nils Larsen and guitar / keyboard player Odd-Roar Bakken began playing together. Since 2015 they have been playing under the name Kornmo, alongside Anton Larsen on drums.
Vårjevndøgnsnatt (Night of the Spring Equinox) is Kornmo’s fourth concept album, based on a story that begins in Ireland and ends in the deep Norwegian forests. This is reflected in the musical expression, both compositionally and through the choice of instruments. Science, philosophy, myths and folklore colour the story that Vårjevndøgnsnatt is based on, which can be read in both Norwegian and English in the accompanying booklet.
